Whether it’s a firewall, anti-virus, anti-malware, parental control, DNS security settings or a database backup tool, your security needs will vary depending on the importance of the data that you have and how much it’s being used. The best way to get you through the process is to hire a Windows expert for this project. Scheduling an appointment with a system administrator can be difficult so here at Druva we have set out to provide the most comprehensive list of the best software for Windows 10.
Windows 10 is here and with it, a new version of our favorite operating system. This new operating system has some exciting features that can help you use your computer more efficiently, including Continuum – a unified experience across all your Windows devices – and new user account management. With this update, Microsoft is also killing off the PC Principal user account. If you have a Windows 10 computer, even a laptop, already set up, here are 5 software products you should install before upgrading to Windows 10.

Meet with anyone with online-meeting software
Zoom has kept most of us informed and connected during the pandemic, and maybe also driven us a bit crazy. The pandemic quickly exposed several of the product’s shortcomings, such as a lack of end-to-end encryption and the ability of uninvited “Zoom bombing” guests to interrupt meetings that were not password-protected, but all that was soon fixed. And Zoom is not the only game in this space; other platforms include Microsoft Teams (which recently also added end-to-end encryption), GoToMeeting, Skype and Cisco Webex. Zoom is, however, the default word we use to describe attending an online meeting. We’re all Zooming now.

NirSoft tools for password cracking
NirSoft has one of those sites that look a bit sketchy — and your antivirus software might flag it as malicious because its password-cracking software can be misused — but I couldn’t live without the tools it offers. If you’ve ever forgotten a password in a Windows program or website and can’t reset it, its password-exposing tools are a godsend. I call them “password-exposing” because these utilities simply remove the protection that the operating system employs when it saves and stores passwords.
Even if you haven’t forgotten your passwords, using these tools to see what could be found by an attacker on your machine can be an eye-opener. You just might stop saving passwords in your browser and on your computer.

Be prepared for the worst with backup software
Windows 10 is trying to get us to move away from traditional backup, but I’m still a fan of old-fashioned full backup-and-restoration software. I’ve been using Macrium Reflect. You can choose the free version or a paid version that ensures that your backup can’t be deleted by ransomware. That’s what I’m using, and I also adjust the bootloaders of my workstations so that they allow an easy option to boot into the recovery console.
Macrium Reflect: free, and starting at $75 for a perpetual license for one PC
Internet Browser: Google Chrome
Unsurprisingly, Google Chrome is still our top browser pick. It’s super-speedy, includes little conveniences like letting you instantly search Google for an image, and has a vast library of Chrome extensions. Throw in cross-platform syncing that lets you open your desktop tabs on your phone and vice-versa, and you’ve got a fantastic browser for all purposes.
Chrome isn’t without its faults, however. Plenty of people want to avoid Google’s pervasive tracking in Chrome, and it gobbles a lot of RAM. But the good news is that you have plenty of other fantastic browsers to choose from, like Firefox and Opera.
Even the built-in Microsoft Edge is now based on Chromium, so give it a try if you prefer Microsoft’s approach over Google’s.

Music Streaming: Spotify
Years ago, listening to music on your desktop meant painstakingly importing and organizing a collection of MP3s. That’s no longer the case; music streaming services eliminate the need for buying individual albums physically or digitally.
There are many music streaming services in the market, but we think the essential pick for Windows 10 is Spotify. Its ad-supported free plan lets you listen to as much music as you like, and there are several Spotify Premium plans that are worth it for avid listeners. Spotify is also home to hundreds of podcasts, making everything available in one convenient place.
Spotify also has a dedicated Windows app, unlike some of its competitors. If you’re already invested in another ecosystem, though, Apple Music or YouTube Music might be a better choice for you.

Image Editor: Paint.NET
Whether you want to try your hand at basic image manipulation, need a way to blur sensitive info in screenshots, or want to retouch old photos, everyone should have an image editing program installed. Photoshop is the gold standard for this, but there are plenty of free tools that are more accessible.
Paint.NET is a must-have Windows app for your image editing needs. It’s far more powerful than Microsoft Paint, but doesn’t overwhelm you with loads of confusing tools. You can easily blur out parts of an image, auto-level photos to make them look better, and add text and shapes to your pictures in just a few clicks. Plenty of plugins allow you to expand its functionality, too.
If you find Paint.NET too basic, GIMP is a more advanced solution, and it’s also available at no charge.

Conclusion
Software. It is the key to everything. You need it for your car, your phone, your laptop, your tablet, your PC, and your computer in general. When you feel that you’re getting ripped off by an app or game that was meant to be free, there’s something else in the background that is making the game cost money. In this article let me show you how to see what software is on your PC and what apps are running on it. Basically, what makes a little program a lot of money?
