BambooHR
BambooHR provides small and medium-sized businesses an affordable cloud-based system to track and manage essential employee information in a personalized human resource information system. It provides an affordable way for efficient HR functionalities with a mobile application option as well. The software boasts of easy installation and methodical customer support.
What users like:
“The self-service functionality! The intuitive interface is very easy to learn from the administrative side. It is also very easy to deploy to computer savvy users and those that are learning. The BambooHR development team listens and sometimes it seems the tweaks and improvements that they make are perfectly timed with our needs. Custom fields are quickly created and the ease of submitting support requests from within the app with two clicks speaks volumes about their customer service. The responsiveness from support is consistently reliable and prompt.”
What users dislike:
“While applying leaves, the system does not detect a user’s location and country automatically. As a result, the user needs to manually add/remove national holidays that may be applicable to them.”
Odoo ERP
Odoo ERP is an all-in-one customizable solution for CRM, inventory, manufacturing, project, and accounting. The software is modular and integrated seamlessly to reduce manual effort and processes by automating input methodologies. Regardless of the company size and budget, Odoo helps keep all business functions in one place for better collaboration between teams.
What users like:
“The main reason we switched to Odoo over Monday, Quickbooks, and Jobber (what we currently had) was for cohesion as well as overall ease of customization. We had to have invoices in Jobber sync up for transactions made in Quickbooks which often led to many man-hours used in fruitless consolidating. Many updates in Jobber had to also be made in Quickbooks. Leads on Monday would be slow after years of documents being uploaded to it. Switching to Odoo made this a one-stop shop for all of our CRM, Accounting, Invoicing, and overall business needs. Being able to customize the layout of the ERP has been great. There is a learning curve but it is WELL worth the time put in.”
What users dislike:
“If you have an issue, the support team is not in the U.S. and can take a while to respond. I’ve noticed it has been getting better. It doesn’t really have a traditional CRM.”
People HR
People HR is designed for small and medium-sized businesses as a platform for various HR functionalities like applicant tracking, personnel tracking, and performance review. It provides a secure employee tracking database for keeping updated records. People HR provides a strong module for applicant tracking, reducing the effort for creating and managing new job profiles and also created custom pages for job descriptions matching the company’s branding.
What users like:
“It has many features that can be used without having a lot of knowledge, so I think one of its best things is simplicity. In the case of the creation and preparation of reports, it should also be noted that they can be used using information previously introduced in the system, speeding up its creation and subsequent analysis. Requesting a free day or making a suggestion or request through PeopleHR is also easy. Employees can access and request information without having to spend a lot of time researching options within the software.”
What users dislike:
“Some of the UI and UX is tough to navigate. The left-hand menu could do with some defining and some more logic applied. Very rarely I click the right option the first time without clicking around multiple options to find what I was looking for.”
Sage People
Sage People leverages Salesforce reports and dashboards to help make smarter workforce decisions. It helps to automate key tasks and create new workflows through user configuration. Sage People also creates better employee engagement activities by using user insights from its vast cloud-based database.
What users like:
“I like that the home page is completely modifiable and so it can be clean and organized and designed however relevant for your company. It also has a mobile version so you can do everything from your phone. It’s very convenient to have all the benefit information in one place including health care documents, policies, etc. Everything is straightforward and organized. You can also review and acknowledge review of company policies on this platform which cuts down on paper waste and increases efficiency.”
What users dislike:
“The biggest challenge has been to supplement the core implementation services with additional training and change management delivery and materials. Because the system is so configurable, there are no standard off the shelf training documents and materials we could use straight off.”
BrioHR
BrioHR helps companies digitize HR processes such as recruitment and ATS, onboarding, performance management, leave management, payroll, and employee files. It also boasts live support and extreme scalability and affordability.
What users like:
“I like that it is all one app and it is designed for all and not limited for HR personnels only. I have seen and used HRMS like EasyPay, Workday, Deskera, Sage People, and a couple of others. I must say that for a startup like BrioHR, they are clear on how a competitive HRMS should be, and I love it how the price is at an affordable price for all size of organization. BrioHR is luxurious and yet it is accessible for all sizes of customers.”
What users dislike:
“They always enhance the system to let the users have a better experience, thus we constantly have to learn new things from their portal. Sometimes we may not have the time to do so.”
Skilo
Skilo helps streamlining the employee performance management process. It enables companies to plan, review, and develop goals and competencies for optimum results.
What users like:
“Simplicity, effectiveness, user-friendly interface, highly configurable reporting module, integration with Active Directory and SSO. They have done a great job on understanding our requirements and building a world-class competency review solution. By making a positive decision on Skilo, you are not only buying a great tool but having access to very smart resources that can help you build any process that will involve performance reviews.”
What users dislike:
“Some icons such as the one on saving a review (currently it is a floppy disk) or the inconsistency on how stars get displayed on a review (the display at the top is a star and a number up to 4 while a user is expected to give the rating out of 4 available stars) could be improved for better user experience.”
GoCo
GoCo is an easy-to-use, modern management system that can be used to automate HR processes like payroll delivery, employee onboarding, PTO, and benefits administration. It’s also a highly secure platform used to store and send confidential HR documents.
What users like:
“GoCo is a user-friendly platform with clear instructions for onboarding. I really like the onboarding workflow that it provides for our new employees. In addition, GoCo has many partners that they can recommend to you for benefits and other lines of coverage. It’s a versatile tool without becoming too robust or confusing to navigate and administer, making it a perfect fit for our small team. The cost compared to other HRIS is not as risky allowing you to see if it is indeed a good fit for your organization. GoCo also provides great resources outside of the HRIS platform itself with HR-focused webinars and a blog that stays relevant to the times.”
What users dislike:
“I think one of the downfalls of GoCo would be the way employee documents are done. Recently we had an employee who tried to update some of the tax forms and the way GoCo had the Federal W-4 set up was extremely confusing. They also added another form, OR W-4 that we were not notified about. Another thing that I dislike about GoCo is that it doesn’t update time-off right away when an employee deletes or amends their request for time off. The user will usually have to login and logout a couple of times. The last thing that I wasn’t too happy with was GoCo not catching duplicate requests for time off.”
