RealTimeBoard

RealTimeBoard: Use Case Diagram Online

RealTimeBoard is a web application for cross-functional teams collaboration. It does not offer as much as others do, but you can easily draw a simple Use Case Diagram here. It has Actors and Use Cases which are the two essential parts of a Use Case Diagram. The shapes here has a different design than others which seems to be inspired by the popular Material design. Along with all the basic export options, you can convert your diagram as database to a CSV spreadsheet.

ASCII Flow

Depending on your situation, ASCII Flow may not be the choice for you, but it does fit a nice niche market. Instead of the fancy, graphical displays of most diagramming tools, ASCII Flow uses ASCII characters to draw the elements of the flowchart. It offers very few object shapes; it’s limited to boxes, plain lines, and arrow lines.

Draw.IO is another traditional diagramming app that contains many common sets of shapes (Figure C). It also contains various specialty shapes for mocking up mobile device interfaces, laying out Cisco or other network hardware designs, and doing electronic schematics. Draw.IO can save to Google Drive, Dropbox, or a local device.

Gliffy

Like the previous two, Gliffy is another broad-featured diagramming app. In addition to offering the common sets, Gliffy allows you to create your own shape libraries by signing up for a free account (Figure D). It includes shapes for doing room/house layouts, as well. Gliffy’s standout feature is its offline option. Once you register, you can install the Google Chrome extension, which allows you to work wherever you are.

Our final product is yUML (Figure E). As the name suggests, it is simply a UML diagramming tool; there are no bells, whistles, or extra features. Simply type in your UML markup and press Draw Diagram to get a quick flowchart or use case diagram. Customization options allow you to change the direction of the diagram — left-to-right, top-to-bottom, or right-to-left — and the size, from tiny to huge.

SmartDraw is a flowchart app that focuses on ease of use for beginners who are not experts at creating diagrams.

SmartDraw is a diagramming software with an exciting suite of automated features. 

These automated features are one of the key differentiating features that SmartDraw users love. 

Additionally, many users use SmartDraw as a tool to map out complex systems. The wire-framing capabilities also make SmartDraw a popular tool for laying out user flows for apps and websites.

Conclusion

I’ve been using your Free Use Case Diagram Tool for a project I’ve been working on, and have stumbled across two issues. The first is that the font used in each diagram is so small it requires me to use something like zoom out or zoom text to make it bearable for reading. The second issue is that the left-hand vertical scroll bar doesn’t work; I need to manually scroll to see all of the diagram.
