Chromebooks aren’t super famous for their graphic design skills. In fact, it’s quite the opposite. But there are a lot of Chromebook users who are working in graphic design. And while there is Photoshop itself, many designers are demanding more control over their creation process. No extra plug-ins or extras that slow down the creative process. Instead, all you need to do is create and ship right out of your favorite Chromebook! Chromebooks are awesome devices. Whether you use them for school or for fun, they are one of the best laptop options on the market. One of my favorite things about Chromebooks is that Google has given it a more artsy feel because many people like to draw. All of these reasons and more makes me a huge fan of Chromebooks. If you have a Chromebook, you probably already know it’s not the most powerful laptop in the world. So, if you want to use graphic design tools on your laptop – you will be pretty limited. But don’t panic and think you will never be able to use graphic design software on your Chromebook.
Graphic design is a visual art that is used to create logos and icons, infographics, brochures, magazines or any other visual content. What do we need for graphic design? Well, we need at least a computer and some software to have all the tools you need. For Chromebook users like us, it can be difficult to find the right tool for the job. I have searched and searched for a long time until I managed to find one! It’s called InfinitDraw and has pretty much everything you need to start your artistic journey on a Chromebook. Have you ever heard about graphic designing software for Chromebook or best design apps for Chromebook. If not, will suggest you go through my post. I am sharing the list of Apps that are compatible and available for Chromebook.

Sketchbook by Autodesk is a drawing application for the iPad and iPhone. It’s designed to be used with a stylus, which makes it easier to draw on your device than using your finger.
The app has a few different tools, including brushes and markers. You can also import images from other apps into Sketchbook and then use them as backgrounds for your drawings.
Sketchbook comes with an assortment of templates for you to use as starting points for your drawings. You can also create your own templates by importing images into the app and tracing over them with a stylus.
Sketchbook is a widely popular program for digital drawing and it’s recommended for both professionals and beginners alike. And the best part is that this powerful program is now available on Chromebooks thanks to the Android support. Sketchbook runs phenomenally well in full-screen mode with a huge canvas, multiple tools, and layers.
Other than that, in my testing, the touchscreen latency was close to naught and I was able to draw on my HP Chromebook x360 without any crash or freezing issues. You can even use an active stylus on this app and it supports palm rejection too.
Simply put, Sketchbook by Autodesk does not need much introduction when it comes to drawing and sketching. The only thing you need to know is that you can install Sketchbook on Chromebook without any hacks and it has offline support too since you are using an Android app.

AD stippling brushes for Photoshop
Illustrator and Photoshop brush wizard Alex Dukal has created a new set of stippling brushes to help you quickly create authentic-looking shaded illustrations, tactile textures and warm patterns.
AD stippling brushes for Photoshop are one of the best ways to paint in photoshop. There are hundreds of different brush styles that can be used in Photoshop, but stippling brushes are a great way to add texture and realism to your work. Stippling is a method where you apply a bunch of small dots to an image. You can use this technique to create textures or even add depth and shadows.
The first step is to create your brush shape. This can be done by selecting your brush tool from the toolbar at the top of the screen. Then click on “Shape Dynamics” and choose “Spacing” from the drop-down menu that appears next to it. This will give you some options for how large each dot should be when you paint with them. You should also make sure that the “Smoothing” option is set at 100 percent so that all of your dots connect together smoothly without any gaps between them!
Once you have created your brush shape, select “Brush Tip Shape” from the toolbar at the top and then choose “Roundness” from its drop-down menu (this will determine how round or sharp-edged each dot is). You can also adjust other settings
Stippling – if you’re not sure – is the creation of a pattern using different densities and sizes of dots (like a halftone). This pack is perfect for vintage sci-fi or technical illustrations that need a hand-drawn feel.
Psycho Illustrator action
Josh O’s new Illustrator action lets you recreate the famous credit sequence from Psycho in seconds. Ideal for vintage posters, social media graphics, banners and so on, the action also works with other effects so you can create unique designs.
House Industries: The Process is the Inspiration
Here’s one to look forward to: revered type foundry and design studio House Industries has announced the release of a new, 400-page book dedicated to answering the question: where do you find inspiration?
Packed with stories, case studies and handy advice – and with topics ranging from fonts and fashion to space technology, plus a foreword from JJ Abrams – it promises a fascinating dive into the minds of co-founders Andy Cruz and Rich Roat, and type designer Ken Barber.
Wood burn Photoshop effects
For a rustic woodburn vibe, try this pack of five high-res effects. All you have to do is double-click on the layer’s thumbnail to open a new Photoshop document, place your artwork in the file, hit save and you have an instant burnt wood effect.
PowerDirector Android app
PowerDirector is a popular desktop video editor, and its mobile version is a great tool to edit video on a Chromebook. The UI is very similar to what you would see in the PowerDirector desktop version, so there are chances you are already used to the experience.
This is as full as a video editing app for Chromebooks can get. It can trim clips, add effects, adjust the look, overlay audio, add music, stabilize shaky video, rotate, fix exposure, enhance colors, and export in 4K quality. It’s a free app, but unlocking specific improvements requires in-app purchases.Download PowerDirector
WeVideo web app
No Android app support? No problem! WeVideo is a cloud-based web app to edit videos on a Chromebook. It offers an experience similar to a desktop video editor, and arguably beats the Android apps listed above.
The service supports multiple video and audio tracks, giving you the freedom to go all out with numerous clips. Transitions, 4K exporting, titles, rotation, cropping, animations, and effects are only some of the included features. You can sync with cloud storage services too, and WeVideo offers its own cloud storage solution (storage space depends on the plan you choose). Not to mention it comes with access to stock video, audio, and images.
The free WeVideo version will output a watermarked video and offer minimal services. WeVideo’s free plan is essentially a trial, as it limits functionality significantly and only allows five minutes of video production per month. A paid subscription can replace desktop video editing software for many users, though.
Magisto
Not everyone is a great video editor. Even if you are, it can be a very time-consuming activity. This is why Magisto has become one of the best video editors for Chromebooks. It’s web-based, too, so all you need is a browser to use it.
Magisto has a variety of templates to make videos of all kinds. You can pick one and then throw all your videos, photos, and audio files at Magisto, and it will work its magic to produce a great video. To add a nicer touch to your videos, you can access a library of stock clips (iStock) and royalty-free music to add those to your creations.
Magisto has no free plan, but you get a free seven-day trial, and prices aren’t too high.
Conclusion:
Chromebooks are one of the best “hybrid” laptops you can buy. These laptops give you the best of both worlds, functioning as Chrome browser and an actual laptop. It is a good alternative for graphic design students and professional who just want to carry around a laptop that gives them extra work space if needed. Chromebooks also run on Google’s incredibly useful cloud storage, Google Drive.
