I’m sure you’ve heard of SEO Quake before. It’s a free SEO Chrome Tool which has been released by “Happy Feet” for use in SEO. The tool is very powerful and especially useful when it comes to finding keywords with low competition. In short, if you want to know how many pages rank for a keyword in a specific location without paying a dime, then the tool allows you do that in a few minutes.
Here, I will be showing you a couple of amazing seo chrome plugins.
Redirect Path
Redirect Path isn’t as well-known of an extension, but when you are doing technical SEO it is a must.
As time goes on, your URLs are going to change. Whether that is from a new structure or if you are deleting old content and consolidating your pages, this extension will tell you when something goes wrong.
Through Redirect Path, you can quickly see if a redirect is broken or working correctly.
Keywords Everywhere
This is probably the most popular extension out there for SEOs.
Keywords Everywhere is great for anyone who is doing keyword research.
Just go to Google and type in any keyword that you are interested in going after. Keywords Everywhere will show you a laundry list of other related terms that you can go after as well.
You can quickly export the list and then compile a master list of keywords that are worth targeting.
What’s convenient about Keywords Everywhere is the data is provided right within Google versus having to go to a specific tool.
Fatrank
Although it is a bad habit, as SEOs, we all obsess about rankings.
If you want an easy and free way to track your rankings, just set up a project on Ubersuggest.
Another easy solution to see how you are ranking is by using Fatrank.
All you have to do is head to your site, click on the Fatrank extension, and type in a keyword to see if you rank for it.
If you rank in the top 100, it will tell you the exact position.
If you don’t, it will let you know that you don’t rank in the top 100.
I use this as a spot check to make sure I am doing decently well after a major Google algorithm update.
Buzzsumo
Whether you love or hate Facebook, it’s still a popular site that can drive a lot of traffic.
As you are surfing the web, you’ll naturally end up reading some articles. Some of them will be on your competitor’s site and you may be wondering if the article did well or not.
Using the Buzzsumo extension, you can see how many social shares a given article has as well as their backlinks.
You can even see all the most popular articles from that website based on social sharing and backlink count.
This will give you a good idea about the type of content you need to start producing.
Meta SEO Inspector
Errors can really kill your traffic.
The smallest things like your meta tags can have a big impact on your rankings, so you’ll want to make sure they are fully optimized.
Using Meta SEO Inspector, you can quickly see if your meta tags are set up correctly.
As you can see from the screenshot above, it reports errors.
With that example, I quickly learned that one of my pages doesn’t have an open graph meta tag. That means that when people share that page on the social web, it may not show up correctly, meaning I won’t get as much social media traffic.
SEOStack Keyword Tool
Generates thousands of keyword ideas from a seed keyword by scraping autocomplete suggestions from Google, Youtube, Bing, Yahoo, Amazon, and eBay. If you’ve ever used Keyword Sheeter, you’ll already be familiar with the concept. All data can be exported to CSV.
TextOptimizer
TextOptimizer describes itself as a writing assistant tool. It analyzes search results for relevant terms and extracts “intent tables” to suggest other words that you can use in your copy “to better match search engines’ expectations.”
Keyword Surfer
Keyword research and SERP analysis tool. It gives away an insane amount of data for a free tool: domain-level traffic estimations in the search results, keyword volumes (both local and global), keyword suggestions, and domain-level backlink counts.

N.A.P Hunter
N.A.P, which means Name, Address and Phone Number, is important for any business that wants to improve ranking in the local search results. Why? Because Google and other major search engines use this data to rank businesses and show the best result when people conduct geo-targeted searches.
However, finding N.A.P information can be a pain for SEO professionals who work with local clients. The N.A.P Hunter conducts multiple searches for the business you’re working on. And ensures that the N.A.P details are in place.
AMP Validator
AMP or Accelerated Mobile Pages is an open-source coding standard designed to help publishers give their readers the best user experience.
Since mobile responsive sites could load slower than their desktop counterparts, AMP allows you to load your website quickly on mobile devices. In other words, it loads the ‘lite version’ of your website so that your visitors are able to access information quickly and easily.
AMP is not just important for better user experience, but also for better SEO. Because ultimately, even Google wants to give its users a higher quality experience when they click-through the search results.
You can run the AMP validator extension on your website to check if your pages are good to go. If a page is not optimized for AMP, it’ll show a red signal on the extension icon. It definitely can’t get easier than this.
SERPTrends
The SEO game is dynamic in nature. And that’s why you need to keep a tab on your search engine rankings day in and day out. Doing this manually for each major search engine can be cumbersome. This is where the SERPTrends SEO extension comes in.
This free tool shows you whether your website’s position has changed in the SERPs or not. How?
When you first check the ranking of a website in Google or Bing, the extension records its current position for the keyword. When you go back and search for the same keyword the next day, it compares the ranking to the previous day’s.
Page Analytics by Google
Improving your website’s performance goes hand in hand with how well it ranks on Google. The Page Analytics extension by Google lets you track important SEO metrics such as pageviews, active visitors, average time on page and bounce rate.
This very useful extension helps you see data directly from your Google Analytics account without having to visit it. As long as you’re signed into your Google Analytics, you can view each metric in real time by clicking on the extension’s icon.
Google search is powered by its extremely smart RankBrain technology, which heavily focuses on user engagement factors. By using this extension, you’ll be able to track how your website’s important pages are performing and work on making them more engaging.
SEOInfo
This extension looks for SEO issues on the page, tells you how many there are, and lets you investigate further. The check covers meta tags, canonicals, indexability, Open Graph tags, structured data, hreflangs, page speed, and more.
It also has a built-in Audit module that uses Google’s Pagespeed Insights API.

Free Backlink Checker by LRT
Despite its name, this tool has nothing to do with incoming links. It analyzes the outgoing links on a page. Like many other link checkers, it highlights all broken links red and live links green. It can also export all links on a page to a CSV or XLSX file along with their anchor text, HTTP status, and “rel” attribute for further analysis.
Unlike many other broken link checkers, this one allows you to increase the time delay between link requests for slower page analysis. This prevents many false positives caused by server protection.
Hreflang Tag Checker
Although lots of extensions show hreflang data, this one is more advanced. It crawls the URL’s hreflang tags to check if they have return links.
SEO Search Simulator by Nightwatch
Emulates Google searches from any location and checks if a particular URL ranks in the top 100 results. Very useful for seeing how rankings vary for a query in different parts of the world.
SERPTrends SEO Extension
Tracks your Google, Bing, and Yahoo searches. Then, if you perform the same search again over time, it shows ranking movements directly in the SERPs.
Conclusion
Today, more and more people are using Google Chrome as their main web browser, so what does it mean for your SEO efforts? It means you need to know how to optimize your site for this particular browser. What’s even better is that it’s easier than ever to do so with the help of a free Chrome extension called SEOQuake.
