Copy.ai Review: An In-Depth Analysis

CopyAI is an AI writing tool that claims to save you time and increase conversion rates. Their homepage states that the tool’s value proposition will put an end to writer’s block and generate marketing copy in seconds.

It won’t exactly produce long form content in seconds like generate entire blog posts in one click, but it can help with creating content like blog titles, outlines, points to paragraphs, blog intros and outros, and that sort of thing.

Is the AI writer any good? Can AI content pass for human writers? Let’s find out.

Copy.ai Summary Review

What Is Copy.Ai?

According to Linkedin, the AI writer Copy.ai was established in 2020 and currently employs 16 people, the majority of whom are based in the United States.

Traction seems promising for only having been around for a little over a year. According to Crunchbase, the team raised a $2.9 million seed fund from a variety of investors, including Adam Morley and Sequoia Capital.

Personal Experience

My first impression and experience with Copy.ai has been that it can be an extremely useful and helpful tool if used correctly.

Even if you don’t feel creative, it can motivate you to finish a piece of content.c

You can also use this to output a large amount of short content quickly.

When it comes to certain topics – especially those relating to people’s and animals’ health and wellbeing – accuracy and truthfulness need to be checked. For this reason, it can be quite powerful when used as an AI writing assistant during the content creation process.

With more use, I think I will be able to make better use of AI writer for general topics over more specific topics. On a specific product, it generated nonsense, but when it was generated on a category of products, it was far better.

The best long-form content is probably not available at this stage. When you just need something to throw into a product description or as a social post, and you don’t care much about quality, then it’s fine. I don’t think we’re there yet when it comes to creating really good content.

The AI copywriting tool is not the only one out there, however. Don’t expect the AI writer to write quality content without any issues, but it’s a good way to get started with a blog post.

With the help of content optimization tools and tools like Grammarly, it can be improved.

Who Is the Tool Best For?

Any online business owner and digital marketer looking to save time and speed up their copywriting and content creation processes should try Copy.ai. The software generates content for websites, landing pages, sales letters, social media, and even email campaigns.

The company offers five or six different types of services:

  • For e-commerce stores, product descriptions are great
  • Advertising on Google, Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, and Linkedin, among others
  • Copy for a website – blog post ideas, outlines, meta descriptions, etc.
  • Website copy, email copy, etc.
  • Content for email subjects, autoresponders, funnels, etc.

How Copy.Ai Scores?

Grammar and Spelling

In order to generate more natural-looking content, machine learning algorithms have been improved. Even though it isn’t perfect yet, it has made a lot of progress since a few years ago.

With the help of Grammarly, it is easy to identify certain grammatical errors in your writing and flag them for further consideration so that you can correct them.

I ran the paragraphs through Grammarly to test how well the Ai-generated copy was able to convey the intended message. It is surprising to learn that it did quite well, scoring 94% on the overall scale.

As a result of a single paragraph, these are the writing issues that were raised. As you can see, there were some incorrect determiners and punctuation, as well as an engagement error (which I usually ignore in Grammarly), as well as a small issue with clarity.

As a rule, Grammarly isn’t the best tool for judging the quality of content, but if you know how to use the tool, then you’ll know that it generally means that the content is acceptable. Perhaps all it needs is a few changes to put it into your voice or to adapt it to your preferred manner of writing.

Plagiarism

Grammarly detected 17% plagiarism in the AI copy when it comes to plagiarism with the AI copy.

It seems a little excessive, especially if you’re used to checking longer blog posts for plagiarism, especially if you’re used to doing so. My experience is that these usually come back with a plagiarism rate of one or two percent (which is usually coming from entirely unrelated content). It is understandable, however, as I was testing such a small sample of copy and it wasn’t a big sample.

It was interesting to see if I could get better results by using other paragraphs generated by Copy.ai as well. All four tests were passed without a single instance of plagiarism.

Accuracy

AI-generated text can sometimes be prone to errors and inaccuracies, which are important factors to consider.

The reader is bound to be confused if you are writing a blog post about survival knives, but the content seems to come back with information about kitchen knives, for example.

For example, you could use the screenshot above as an example. With the tool, I wanted to create an outline for a blog on the topic of “Can dogs eat snails? “, with the title ‘Can dogs eat snails?’ Having looked over the different outlines, you can see that they have come to very different conclusions based on the outlines.

Key Features

There are also a few other key advantages and features that Copy.ai offers:

  • Using our Chrome Extension, you will be able to generate copy on the fly when you are using Google Docs and Gmail
  • A variety of languages can be entered and generated – for example, you can enter content in English and generate content in Spanish
  • FB Group – an active facebook group for advice, support, and discussion of relevant content like all things AI content related (including some great ideas for Facebook ads that can be used for your business)
  • We provide 24/7 support for all of our pricing tiers
  • Resources and Tutorials – a comprehensive collection of resources to help you use the tool to the fullest extent possible

Pricing

There is a flat monthly price of $35 for those who pay annually, or $49 for those who pay monthly on their pricing page.

Even though they don’t offer a free account, they do offer a free trial that lasts for seven days. There is no need to use a credit card to sign up and it is a great way to get a feel for the tool without having to use your credit card. As a result of the free version of the software, there is a limit of 100 runs per day that can be done. There are, however, several factors that you must consider before deciding whether the automated response can be used by your business or not.

In order to start using the tool, all you need to do is click on the Create button once you have logged in. It would therefore be possible for you to create 100 blog posts outlines or other marketing content per day during your free trial, for example. You can keep yourself busy for months as a result of all the templates you create, and they will help you write content for months to come.

Alternatives to Copy.Ai

Alternatively, if Copy.ai is not right for you, there are plenty of other AI software alternatives that you can choose from.

There are also a number of other tools available for AI ad copy and AI writing software such as:

  • Conversion.AI
  • Copy Shark
  • ShortlyAI
  • Writesonic
  • Copysmith.ai (best for longer-form blog content)
  • Jasper (widely considered the best ai writing tool)

As a whole, all tools have a similar price with similar features, and they can also be tested with a free trial period.

Currently, we are just beginning to see what is possible with AI-based content tools. The ability to write marketing copy that they write is undoubtedly impressive, and I anticipate that in the near future, their ability to write articles will get a lot better as well.

If you are a small business owner, or a person who operates a website that can be classified as either a content site or an ecommerce site, you are almost certainly well advised to familiarize yourself with these types of AI copywriting tools.

Although you won’t be able to triple your output of blog articles like maybe we all hoped, they can give you a head start on how to properly use these tools in the future, when their outputs improve.

Does Turnitin detect copy AI?

Basically, plagiarism scanners and checkers like Turnitin or SafeAssign cannot detect text generated by AI like Jervis or Jasper because it is unique and not copied from anywhere. Plagiarism scanners look for text that one copied word-for-word from an existing source. Therefore, they cannot detect AI-generated text.

Final Words

There is no doubt that we are not the first people to encounter a tool that is designed to make our lives easier. As far as I am concerned, AI content could be a very useful tool, especially when it comes to small businesses or blogs who are just getting started. If you are a small business owner, hiring a copywriter is going to be an expensive and time-consuming process, which can be a deadly danger for you.
