Even though there are many emails marketing software, not all of them are worth the money. So here, we have listed the top email campaigns software which will help you create killer email campaigns.

Email Marketing Tools

There is an overwhelming number of options at our disposal today. So it can be arduous to find the one software that best fulfills the marketing requirements of your business. Hence, we made your job a tad bit easy and recommend a list of tools that we believe are some of the best email marketing tools being widely used today.

We came up with the list after much deliberation and experiencing the interface, functionality, and features offered by this tool ourselves.

Moosend

Moosend isn’t the most streamlined email marketing app we tested, but it makes up for that with generous allowances on the free plan and powerful segmentation options for eCommerce businesses.

The email builder works as you expect with drag-and-drop functionality to add elements and a rich text editor. Once you connect your eCommerce site, click over to the Revenue Dashboard tab to see an overview of exactly how your email marketing efforts lead to sales.

Compared to other apps we tested, it takes a few extra clicks to build a new segment. But even free users can segment lists by crucial eCommerce dimensions like average order value, subscribers who add a particular product to their cart, total spending, and more. Moosend also includes automation features with its free plan: over a dozen automated “recipes,” including sequences for abandoned carts, upsells, and customer loyalty.

Moosend integrates with Zapier, opening up connections with tons of other apps and automated workflows for things like adding new Moosend subscribers from new leads and verifying email addresses for new Moosend subscribers.

The more you use your email marketing tool, the more you’ll need to rely on automation. And Sendinblue offers a variety of templated automation flows, based on your goals. You can choose your workflow to improve engagement, increase traffic, grow revenue, or build relationships.

Even with this kind of advanced automation, you can get from account setup to actually editing emails in just a few clicks. Once you’re there, you can build your emails with dozens of pre-made templates and a drag-and-drop editor. Then, either send them as email newsletters or use Sendinblue’s automation workflows to send them on a schedule.

You can’t send as many emails at once as you can from other free email marketing tools, but you can manage more contacts and split them into focused lists. Sendinblue also lets you buy pre-paid credits to send more than your daily email limit.

Expand Sendinblue’s capabilities by integrating it with Zapier to automatically create new Sendinblue subscribers from new Google Contacts, Typeform submissions, and more.

Mailjet

At first glance, Mailjet is a perfectly capable email marketing service. It offers several dozen fully-designed email templates, the drag-and-drop editor you expect, and support for transactional emails. Its free account is a great way to start your email strategy.

But during setup, Mailjet offers a choice between its Marketer and Developer interfaces. In Developer mode, you can hand-code emails or customize pre-made designs, then create separate versions to A/B test. You can plug Mailjet into your app or eCommerce store and set up transactional emails, too.

If you move to Mailjet’s paid plans, you can add anywhere from five to more than 15 user accounts, so marketers and developers can easily collaborate on your email marketing. Plus, Mailjet integrates with Zapier, so you can do things like automatically send emails to people who complete your Typeform or create Mailjet subscribers from new Facebook lead ads leads.

Mailjet pricing: Free for unlimited contacts and up to 6,000 emails per month

 Omnisend (www.omnisend.com)

Omnisend

Omnisend is a must among these email service providers for users who are running online stores only. It quickly pulls products from your store and generates beautiful and fun emails and opt-in forms to grow your email list.

How many emails/subscribers do you get for free?

The free email marketing plan offers you 500 emails per month, and you can reach 250 of your subscribers. It is possible to have a larger contact list but you will only be able to send to 250 of your contacts.

Upgrading depends on whether you need more emails per month or more advanced features. The pricing plans start at $16 per month for 500 subscribers and 6,000 emails. The email count and pricing goes up with more subscribers.

What makes this one of the best free email marketing software?

  • The free plan is a steal and the upgrades are rather flexible.
  • The eCommerce integrations instantly pull products you want to sell into the email.
  • It has creative signup forms like popups, landing pages, and a wheel-of-fortune game.
  • Send out discount codes or scratch cards.
  • Create automation reports and A/B test campaigns.
  • Retain mobile audience using mobile-friendly email templates.
  • Send out automated emails for abandoned carts and order confirmations.
  • Also offers enterprise solutions for bigger companies.

Who should use it?

Omnisend is a great free option for eCommerce stores. You can still use this free email marketing software if you’re not running a store, but you’ll miss out on a lot of the unique functionality.

MailChimp – Making email marketing fun

Mailchimp free email marketing service

Let’s face it – email marketing can be a little dry sometimes. MailChimp is a breath of fresh air, and their fun and quirky branding, paired with some solid, user-friendly features, have helped it quickly become the world’s most popular email marketing service.

Their free account gives you 10,000 emails a month for up to 2,000 contacts, with access to landing pages, forms and reporting. However, if you want ad-free emails and access to features like A/B testing, chat/email support, inbox previews, campaign scheduling and time zone delivery, you’ll need to upgrade to one of their monthly or pay-as-you-go plans.

What we liked: They have a great variety of well-designed and (mostly) mobile-responsive templates, with plenty of flexibility to edit as needed. Their reporting is comprehensive, with stats on conversions, social activity, e-Commerce tracking and email domain performance. You’ve also got forms that easily integrate with your site, landing pages, and over 800 third-party integration options.

Where they should improve: The free emailer plan only allows for single-step automations (i.e. autoresponders) and you can’t even schedule your campaigns, which is really one of the main reasons for using an email marketing service. Emails also have a tendency to end up in Gmail’s Promotions tab – fine if your emails are promoting sales and offers, but less than ideal if they’re informational or transactional. The interface could also be a bit more user-friendly. Find out more in this Mailchimp alternatives post.

Who is the free plan suited to? Marketers who want to send nice-looking promotional emails to a relatively large number of subscribers. Be aware that once you move onto a paid Mailchimp account, you’ll see a pretty big jump in price.

Zoho Campaigns  – the Swiss Army Knife

zoho campaigns - free email service

Zoho are kind of a big deal in the sales and marketing world. Their impressive suite of services means that marketers and small business owners can find all that they need under one roof.

Zoho Campaigns is where the email marketing magic happens, and with a great selection of well-designed templates and an easy-to-use editor, it’s well worth checking out if you’re on a budget.

What we liked: Well-designed interface that is easy to navigate. The editor is fast and offers all the main elements, including columns, video and polls. A cool feature is that you can upload images from Unsplash directly in the editor. Segmentation is also possible. We particularly liked their range of email and form templates.

Where they should improve: It’s a bit disappointing that no kind of automations are included in the free plan, though if you want this feature you can get it for as little as $5/month. The form builder could be easier to use with the use of drag and drop technology.

Zoho recently removed the ability to A/B test your campaigns and even schedule them on the free plan. They also halved the email allowance, which makes it quite limited compared to some tools on this list.

Who is the free plan suited to? Zoho Campaign’s free plan is for anyone looking for an easy-to-use email marketing service with excellent design templates. If you need basic email marketing automation and don’t want to pay, you’d be better off going with MailerLite.

GetResponse – a free plan with unlimited emails

Sales funnel software: GetResponse

GetResponse has only recently added a free plan to their offering, but we’re very happy they have. We’ve been following GetResponse’s product updates for years, and can say that they have some very interesting niche features, though you’ll see below that the features included on their free plan are slightly more limited. These pro, paid features include webinars, sales funnels and advanced marketing automation

What we liked:

What is included are unlimited emails and a website builder with 5 GB of bandwidth. You can also connect your own domain and make use of their SEO-optimization tools.

There are over 500 email templates to choose from, and the editor is flexible and easy-to-use.

Where they should improve:

Unfortunately, you can only store up to 500 subscribers on the free plan, which isn’t many compared to the other tools on the list. You’re also limited to just one landing page.

Autoresponders and automations are reserved for higher-tier paid plans, and, of course, you’ll have to put up with the GetResponse branding.

Who is the free plan suited to?

Small businesses with few subscribers looking for a tool to set up both a simple website and manage their email marketing.

Pro-Tips:

  1. Choose an email marketing tool that harbors a user-friendly interface, is easy to set up, and can be used by marketers without any technical knowledge.
  2. An email marketing tool that provides users with an advanced drag-and-drop editor along with tons of pre-loaded templates is a huge plus.
  3. It must harbor a good marketing automation feature. As such, the tool must allow you to schedule and send bulk, personalized and targeted emails without a hassle.
  4. Look for a tool that allows easy contact list management, tracks the performance of your campaigns, and segments your contact list into groups based on purchasing behavior, demographics, etc.
  5. Look for features like email validation to ensure improved open and click rates (deliverability) for sent emails. A good email marketing software will make sure all emails reach their intended inboxes and don’t end up in spam folders.
  6. The price mentioned should be clear, with flexible plans offered depending on how many emails you expect to send per month. Do not go for a tool that exceeds your budget.

Conclusion

Email marketing is essential for any type of business. Campaigns are very affordable and cost-effective, and with the right email marketing software you can create great newsletters, emails and get better results. However, there are plenty of options out there that offer similar features. If you want to start your business, you obviously want to spend as little as possible while not compromising quality.

Email marketing software is essential for anyone who wants to take their email marketing efforts to the next level. An email marketing tool allows you to automate much of the process of building and enhancing your email list, sending out email campaigns, and tracking the results. The right software will help you reach the coveted inbox zero, ultimately allowing you to spend more time engaging with your subscribers.
